What really appealed to me was the amount of experience I could gain here at Clarks.
I studied Media Communications and Drama Studies at Bath Spa University and we did a fair bit on digital marketing in the final year. When I finished university, I was all set to move to the bright lights of London to work for a big marketing and social media agency. The south west is home and, if I'm being honest, it would have been quite a cultural leap for me. Then, and timing is everything, I read about new opportunities at Clarks in Street, which is practically on my doorstep. Game changer.
What really appealed to me was the amount of experience I could gain and the opportunities I could have so close to home. I soon realised that opportunities like visiting London Fashion Week would not be available to someone of my level if I were based at a big agency in London. My voice would be lost in the noise. Not here.
I was really inspired by Jason, our Chief Brand Officer, and by the idea that I'd be joining a company that was on a journey towards exciting change.
Part of my role is to assist the social media manager in all things social including updating the social calendar and creating and publishing relevant content across Clarks social media channels.
Looking back, before I said yes to Clarks, I was lucky enough to meet with Jason, our Chief Brand Officer. He told me all about his vision for the future of the brand and his desire to bring fresh ideas into the company. I was really inspired by him and by the idea that I'd be joining a company that was on a journey towards exciting change. Change I would be a part of.
